Yes, Vivian, I was very lucky to have found a great Patron like Walt, I drew portraits and carved portraits for him for many years, he even supplied the stone because he had a stone yard in Santa Rosa CA. I was living in barns and garages at this time so the money went pretty far. Gordon

Artist's Description

There are about 45 American Indian Portraits in sand stone that I will be showing here. I carved many more, but I do not have the photos anymore. These were all commissioned by Walter Johnson in California, just like he did for the ink-line portraits in my other Gallery "Indians Outlaws & Heroes"
The originals were all sold to him, but you can buy prints, up to 11x14 inches on this website.
